Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster: A Breathtaking Open-Top V12 Supercar

Pagani has once again pushed the boundaries of automotive design and performance with the introduction of the Huayra Codalunga Speedster — an open-top evolution of the 2022 Codalunga coupe. Blending high art with high horsepower, this new variant is every bit as striking and powerful as its hardtop sibling, but with the added thrill of open-air driving.

An Homage to Coachbuilt Elegance

Much like Pagani continued to release limited-edition Zonda variants well after its successor was introduced, the Italian marque is doing the same with the Huayra lineup despite the arrival of the Utopia. The Codalunga Speedster is a tribute to classic coachbuilt sports cars, fusing elegant curves with cutting-edge materials.

The Speedster retains the longtail aerodynamic design of the Codalunga coupe — a body style that enhances stability and downforce at high speeds. A wider grille integrated with a functional front splitter sets the tone at the front, while the low-profile windshield enhances airflow and aerodynamics. For less-than-ideal weather, the car includes a removable hardtop featuring a panoramic glass panel that gracefully extends over the rear engine bay.

Design That Captivates From Every Angle

The car’s most defining feature is its streamlined rear end, which gracefully tapers and lifts to form a subtle integrated spoiler. The taillights appear to float within the rear fascia, creating a futuristic aesthetic. One of the most jaw-dropping features remains the six-exit exhaust system — four titanium tips positioned in a square formation above and two discreetly placed within the rear diffuser for optimal airflow management.

Inside, the cabin is a luxurious blend of traditional craftsmanship and futuristic design. Pagani’s signature detailing is evident through hand-stitched Italian leather, solid-milled aluminum trim, and mechanical switchgear that feels as good as it looks. A standout detail is the carbon-fiber steering wheel accented with a polished mahogany rim and aluminum rivets, nodding to vintage automotive styling.

Unmatched Performance and Craftsmanship

Powering the Codalunga Speedster is the same AMG-sourced twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine found in the Huayra Utopia. Tuned to deliver 852 horsepower and a massive 811 lb-ft of torque, this beast of an engine is mated to a seven-speed gearbox from Xtrac, available in both automated manual and traditional manual setups. Notably, this makes the Speedster only the second Huayra model ever offered with a manual transmission, after the 2023 Huayra Epitome — a feature sure to excite purists.

Adding to the exclusivity is the new embroidered interior fabric, which mirrors the exhaust’s quad-pipe layout and features over 450,000 stitches per seat element. This level of detail speaks volumes about Pagani’s dedication to art-meets-engineering.

Ultra-Exclusive and Road Legal Globally

Only 10 units of the Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster will be produced, each homologated for road use around the world. While the pricing hasn’t been officially revealed, considering the Codalunga coupe carried a reported base price of $7.4 million, the Speedster is expected to surpass it — further underlining its exclusivity.

Final Thoughts

The Huayra Codalunga Speedster isn’t just a car — it’s a moving sculpture, a collector’s dream, and a visceral driving machine. Pagani has once again proven that engineering brilliance and artistic passion can coexist beautifully. For the select few who will own one, the Codalunga Speedster offers an irreplaceable fusion of open-top freedom, hand-crafted luxury, and ferocious V12 power.
