Features
Seven standard seats and an extra, folding eighth seat for even more passengers are available in the 2023 Toyota Sienna Hybrid. The second row is equipped with heated, reclining captain chairs in the higher trim versions.
Improvement Needed
Lower-trim vehicles lack the strength and efficiency of competing minivans and use inferior materials and outdated technology.
About
As part of the Sienna minivan’s 2021 redesign, Toyota swapped out the V6 gas engine for a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with 2 electric motors to provide 245 horsepower. One minivan with all-wheel drive (AWD) is the Sienna, which receives an EPA rating of 35 mpg in combined city/highway driving with both FWD and AWD. Because Toyota installed a hybrid powertrain, the Sienna has the least amount of cargo space in its class—101 cubic feet. It’s difficult to move large goods because the second-row seats can’t be folded flat into the floor.
Additionally, the interior of the Sienna is equipped with premium soft plastics and high-quality materials, and it comes in five distinct trim levels (LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, and Platinum). Eight passengers may fit comfortably in the cabin, and the chairs are comfortable and supportive. Cloth upholstery and an 8-way motorized driver’s seat are standard on the Sienna LE. Upgrade to the XLE grade to get heated front seats, synthetic leather upholstery, and captain’s chairs for the second row. The higher trim levels come with luxuries like heated back seats, leather upholstery, and captain’s chairs with ottomans.
A standard 9-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity are also included in each model. Back seat passengers can choose from wireless device charging, GPS, and an 11.6-inch screen.
The Sienna has been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as automated emergency braking, traffic sign detection, blind-spot tracking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam headlights are all featured as standard features. Parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, and a heads-up display are included in the higher-trim versions of the car.
Toyota has only offered the Sienna as a hybrid since its redesign for the 2021 model year; the 2021 and 2022 versions are identical. Older Sienna models have more powerful engines and roomier cargo compartments, but they aren’t hybrids, thus they get bad gas mileage. Using the Toyota VIN Decoder, you may verify the VIN of the 2023 Toyota Sienna that you wish to purchase.
